For no particular reason (no, really), I would like to point out the follow insightful, humorous, and incredibly spot on commentaries about cover letters, CV’s and the process of hiring librarians in general:
- the torment of terrible cover letters from Jenica over at Attempting Elegance. Take away message: read the instructions and the other stuff that’s been posted about the position. Then read them again.
- following @jenica26, my thoughts on resumes and cover letters from Andromeda Yelton. Some really great advice about cover letters. I wish that I had read this years ago when I was searching for a job.
- Jobseeker Tip 1: CV/Resume Objectives, And A Contest! from Colleen at Guardienne of the Tomes. Your goal: create the best CV objective possible, e.g. “To work in a library where there is often free, delicious food served at meetings (preferably cupcakes) and extremely casual (read: pajama pants) Fridays.”
- Open Cover Letters – A blog illustrating cover letters that actually got people hired.
I have no commentary of my own to add at this time.
Glad you liked it!
